Baptism

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Baptism is ordained by Jesus

Jesus set an example for baptism in scripture. In Matthew 28, Jesus says - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

At CrossPointe, we believe that Jesus has modeled baptism for us in scripture as He was baptized himself. As we seek to be obedient and  model the life of Jesus Christ in the world, we publicly baptize believers as a sign of faith in Christ. While baptism does not save believers from the wrath of God, it is a form of worship that is pleasing to God. Baptism expresses union with Christ in His death and resurrection.
